Yesterday was a cold, rainy & icky morning here. Soccer games were cancelled. So I thought I'd post about some of our better soccer mornings. It's been a typical midwest spring and that means that one weekend it's blazing hot and the next it's cold & wet. Us soccer parents do the best we can & stick it out & get to the games as much as possible.
Our family had taken a few year hiatus from soccer all together. It was a welcome break, but we mised it as well. This spring, John & Andrew opted to play soccer. I can't believe the last time we did this Andrew was barely totting around. I distinctly remember the soccer practice on June 1 when I discovered Andrew had his first tooth break through. Gaaah! And now that baby is out on the field running around. *tear*
John has always been a natural soccer player. He has the speed & agility. Soccer won't be a long term thing for John though. His passion remains more in football than anything. We'll enjoy it while we can.
I tried to get some pictures with my little point & shoot camera. Plus I'm way off to the side on the field. Very rarely do they come play right in front of where I am sitting. In this picture John is wearing red on the far right:
John, in black, charging toward the ball:
You can see Andrew is the left corner of this picture wearing blue with a camo hood. I love his in action must get to the ball running form.
Here he is again getting ready to kick the ball.
And again (middle, blue shirt, bald head). However he's not always in action. He gets distracted or zones out & chews on his finger nails. He's 5 though, it's expected that kids of this age are always focused on the game. What you see some of the kids doing can be comical.
